In addition to providing the operating infrastructure to support Contis Card Solutions and its strategic partners, the unique capabilities provided by Contis Technologies are available to larger institutions who wish to service their own accounts, but who require an operating platform. This is where the flexibility of the platform developed by Contis Technologies again comes into its own. Contis Technologies owns the intellectual property, processing platforms, licences banks and other Visa™ or MasterCard®™ institutions to run the platform and money management activity.
There are two ways in which institutions can utilise the services of Contis Technologies:
- Processing - The first proposition is the provision of processing services for VISA and MasterCard® member institutions who own the relationship with the consumer and want to offer Prepaid Cards. The partner institution markets the product, obtains legal and regulatory clearances, recruits cardholders, manages the float, completes regulatory reporting and is responsible for product profit and loss. Contis Technologies loads accounts onto the Contis Infrastructure, manages daily settlement, provides customers service and fraud protection and maintains the operating system within legal and regulatory standards.
- Licensing - In this second proposition, Contis Technologies licenses the system to institutions that then run the system on their own hardware and integrate into their infrastructure. The partner institution is responsible for system operations and support, operational infrastructure and staffing, compliance and reporting, cardholder recruitment and servicing and financial reconciliation and reporting. Contis Technologies deliver the code and documentation, deliver bespoke system changes and annual code updates, and provide second line systems support.
